Risorgimento e Resistenza

Museo del Risorgimento e della Resistenza

Viale X Giugno, 115 , Vicenza - 36100

The Museum, established in 1893 and housed since 1938 in the late 18th-century building of Villa Guiccioli in Monte Berico, along with the adjacent Historic Park that was the site of the heroic Resistance of 1848, constitutes a complex closely tied to the history and the civil, moral, and cultural life of the city and the Vicenza territory. Its collections represent an interesting testimony of events ranging from the first Napoleonic campaign in Italy in 1796 to the historical events of World War II and the liberation struggle.

The material preserved by the Museum is extremely varied and interesting; the main core of the collection consists of printed publications, periodicals, newspapers, manuscripts, portraits, paintings, prints, diaries, decrees and proclamations, private documents, coins, medals and decorations, civil and military maps, cold and firearms, flags, and various types of military memorabilia.
