Santuario di Monte Berico
Viale 10 Giugno, 87 , Vicenza - 36100
Built in 1428 after the Virgin Mary appeared twice when the city was stricken with a devastating plague, the Sanctuary daily hosts pilgrims and visitors, also thanks to the hard work of the Servants of Mary, the keepers of this place since 1435. It houses various masterpieces of sacred art, such as the worshipped statue of Mater Misericordiae, dating back to the beginning of the fifteenth century, as well as Paolo Veronese, Bartolomeo Montagna, Giulio Carpioni and François-Guillaume Ménageot’s paintings.
