Situated along a watercourse that separates it from the modern town, Villa Bianchini boasts, in addition to its elegant architecture, a fascinating landscape characterization.
The first information about the villa can be traced back to the middle of the 17th century, since the catastic of Zianigo is mentioned as belonging to the Marini family; a few decades later, in a map dated 1697 the original architecture is visible: the Sunday villa was one storey lower than the current one and, next to it, lay only one of the two wings that now flank it. They’re The Marini estate, who probably commissioned the construction of the villa, was succeeded by that of the Angeloni, the name with which the property appears in the cadastral of 1740. It was precisely this family that initiated a period of considerable architectural and artistic improvements, carried out in the course of about forty years, as evidenced by the date 1779, placed on the threshold of the first floor. In the nineteenth century came the Bianchini family, the name by which the villa is still known. The main building is composed of a central body, with a rectangular plan, flanked by two wings lower and set back from the median portion, characterized by a portico on the ground floor. The main facade is arranged, as a tradition, towards noon.
Despite the sobriety of the exterior, the villa preserves inside traces of an important decorative apparatus made during the last years of the 18th century, within the enhancement program wanted by the Angeloni. In the first room on the right, on the ground floor, there is a fresco depicting Merit and two allegorical figures, created within a stucco frame with mistilinear profiles, attributed by several sources to Giandomenico Tiepolo.
The villa is immersed in a vast park, open to the public, in which you can admire, scattered in various ways, among the green of the lawn, old species witnesses of the past.
