The first settlement of Benedictine monks on the hill with vineyards in the heart of Lonigo dates back to the X century. After the Canons Regular of San Giorgio in Alga took over, between the 15th and 16th centuries, a magnificent abbey was built, which was later transformed into a residential villa in the 20th century by the Giovanelli princes.
Subsequently, the complex returned to the hands of religious figures, first the Jesuits and for the last fifty years the Pavonians, who, after restoring the villa and cultivating the vineyards, opened the doors to the public with the aim of spreading the Pavonian spirit and creating a future for the younger generations and the land itself.
The center is now also a school hub (Middle School, High School, and Vocational Course for Wine Operator) and a winery producing generous wines.
