The first evidence of a sacristy on this site dates back to 1177, when this small church was a chapel of the church of Santa Maria dell'Ospedale del Piave.
The small church was subject to various jurisdictions over the centuries: in 1229 it passed into the possession of the Cistercian Abbey of Follina and in 1495 into that of Santa Maria degli Angeli di Murano, until the fall of the Serenissima.
This ancient church was replaced in 1842 at the request of the Balbi Valier family, a famous family from Pieve di Soligo, with the current small temple dedicated to St. Martin with neoclassical lines to house their tombs. For this reason, some tombstones of members of the Balbi Valier and Sammartini families can be found under the entrance colonnade.
