The Church of San Pietro was consecrated by Bishop Nicolò Trevisan on September 24, 1480: it had a single nave. Between 1769 and 1773, it was enlarged thanks to the interest of Archpriest Don Antonio Comin. In 1870 - 1873, it was once again expanded with the addition of two side naves. The whole now presents a predominantly Renaissance style. It has five Baroque altars, made of polychrome marble with inlays and bas-reliefs, equipped with also marble bases, with friezes, frames, and various sculptures.
Among the artworks that adorn the interior, it is possible to observe: the main altar panel (Assumption) in Carrara marble and the work of Muntemezzano; the 18th-century panel depicting the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary by an unknown author; a canvas "The Visit of the Magi" by Pittoni; a canvas "The Ten Virgins," attributed to Antonio Balestra; the 19th-century organ, built by De Lorenzi using pre-existing material; the main altar in Carrara marble; the marble tabernacle with two marble adoring angels.
The baptistery is a large carved stone basin from the 1500s, divided into two compartments, with a carved wooden pyramid from the 1600s. The basin has four coats of arms: the anterior episcopal one belongs to one of the Grimani Bishops who were in Caneda from 1508 to 1546. The bell tower, 45 meters high, with an octagonal pyramid in the style of the church, was built around an old tower.
