Osteria della Birra San Gabriel

In Levada di Ponte di Piave, at an intersection on the Postumia road, there stood a factory where tree trunks were cut. At the height of its glory, over a century ago, the trees cut in Cadore and Val Visdende arrived in such numbers that, in Levada, the first small sawmill was expanded, becoming a real industrial complex among the most important in the area.
Throughout the 20th century, the conditions of the Piave changed and made the ancient timber trade impractical.
Thus, the Levada workshop, along with hundreds of similar establishments, closed its doors and was forgotten by history.
Today, that ancient factory has been reborn and is once again a place of work and creation, but it is also a place of memory and, of course, refreshment.
The Osteria della Birra is located next to the San Gabriel brewery in Levada di Ponte di Piave, following a redevelopment of the buildings of an ancient and glorious sawmill.
A visit to the Borgo della Birra is fun even for the little ones.
