The central body of the villa was constructed in 1674 in the Pizzocarian style, austere yet elegant, as evident from the inscription in the frieze on the facade and the family crest above it. The villa was erected in 1674 by the Caliari Bassani brothers, but a map from 1595 shows the building flanked only by the eastern wing, and a drawing from 1802 depicts the villa lacking the pyramid-shaped chimneys and with shorter side bodies. The two side wings were added later in the 18th century. It seems that the construction took place in multiple phases, with subsequent modifications starting in the second half of the 16th century. In the second half of the 18th century, the villa passed to the noble Vicentine family of Muzzi and was then acquired in the early 20th century by industry magnate Girolamo Dalle Ore, possibly after a brief ownership by the Frigo family. The first restorations date back to 1907, with further work done in some areas at the end of the 1980s. The pediment is dominated by statues of Jupiter, Neptune, and Mercury attributed to Francesco Albanese, which, along with the very tall pyramids, create an imaginative crown for the villa. The interiors are developed on a shallow plan in a sequence of interconnected rooms characterized by doors of 16th-century origin, offset on the wall due to further subdivisions. The staircase leading to the noble floor is covered by a vaulted ceiling on hanging capitals, and the rooms have a broader sense of space due to the higher ceilings.
In the upper apartment, two monumental fireplaces are noteworthy. A large courtyard with staircases and statues, including two dwarf sculptures signed by Rossi, along with a large grassy area, enhance the entrance to the villa, considered among the most beautiful of the late 17th century in Vicenza.
