Over the centuries it has become the symbol of the city.
Also known as Ponte degli Alpini, the first certain date of the presence of a structure in this area is 1209. Because of the war and the events of the river Brenta it was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt always faithful to the design that Palladio realized in 1569. In 1945 it was bombed by the Allies to damage the traffic of the Germans, the last intervention was carried out by the Alpini in 1948.
During the flood of 1966 it was damaged and in the following years it was dismantled and strengthened. It is currently undergoing a comprehensive restoration.
