The battery is open, straight-faced, with short sides and a water ditch, 10-14 meters wide and 1.80 meters deep. Both fronts have a simple transverse bastion, arranged for artillery. At the shoulder point is a large counter-bastion, which contains a grenade-proof ammunition store.
Behind the façade, and parallel to it, there are two buildings walled at ground level, of which the rear one is larger and covered towards the sea by an earth reinforcement.
The façade fires towards the entrance of the port of Malamocco, the sides keep the inner entrance under fire and control the mouth of the S. Pietro canal.
