Prominent among the preserved exhibits is the original and famous Bernardi 3-wheeled car with internal combustion engine, the world's only working Bernardi automobile with the original 1899 mechanics. The engine, tuned by Bernardi himself, is capable of propelling the vehicle up to a speed of 35 kilometers per hour. This model car was able, between 1898 and 1900, to win 7 out of 12 international races in which it participated.
Also preserved in the museum is the Pia engine, the world's first example of a gasoline engine, patented in 1892; examples of Lauro's 4-stroke engine, one of which was attached to a common bicycle - a solution that anticipated modern mopeds.
Also preserved in the museum are some autograph notebooks in which Bernardi jotted down his ideas and the results of his research, along with some drawings of components of the engines on display.
