The Pediatric Emergency Department has 4 clinics, 2 of which are equipped for the reception and stabilization of children in critical conditions, whether traumatized or not, and 4 equipped boxes for Short Intensive Observation.
It is directly connected with the Territorial Emergency Service (118), the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and the remaining departments/services of the Department, as well as with company services dedicated to emergencies (Orthopedics, Radiology, Laboratory, Neuroradiology).
The organization employs a triage system with 4 levels of severity, with differentiated care pathways according to that severity.
The Pediatric Emergency Department also offers a vaccination service in a protected environment and food load testing for children with food allergies. The U.O.C Acceptance and Pediatric Emergency Department relies on a Pediatric Urgent Care Unit dedicated to the admission of children with acute illnesses or exacerbations of chronic conditions coming from the Emergency Department.
Children transferred from other hospitals who, due to the severity of their condition, require semi-intensive care are also welcomed.
