On the eastern side of the piazza we find the Temple of Saints Pietro and Paolo, built in 1431 thanks to the bequest of the nobleman Pietro Mazzagallo. It repeats the late-Gothic constractive modules of the nearby church of San Martino. Since a recent restoration it has become a place for prayer and meditation. In the ascetic apse, illuminated by the light from a superb Gothic window, the figure of a precious crucifix stands out; it dates from the 17th century and comes from Loreo area.
At the centre: the altar was derived from a wellhead conserved in the bishop's seminary. The medallion that adorns the portal, with bas-reliefs representing Saints Peter and Paul, to whom the oratorio is dedicated, were created, instead, specifically for the place an date back to the same time as the building.
