Eremo del Monte Rua

The Camaldolese Hermitage of Monte Rua is a 16th century building. Composed of 14 cells with a small bedroom, study, and garden, grouped around a church, the hermitage is accessible only to men, due to the strict enclosure that prevails within the entire perimeter of the walls. The place, which offers a fascinating panorama and a mystical silence, is home to some monks who live there, alternating between working the land and meditation.
