Dating before the year 1100, the church has a gabled façade, an entrance porch, a rectangular plan with a single nave, a raised presbytery and a semicircular apse. Here there is a fresco from the second half of the 13th century, depicting a Pantocrator Christ enclosed in a mandorla.
There are three altars: the main one, from the 17th-century, in pink, white and green marble, the altar of the Madonna, containing a statue of Mary with Jesus in her arms, and finally the altar of Saint Dorothy, saint patron of San Salvaro.
