The itinerary starts from Centro Ippico Le Giare and develops in a typical environment of the Venice Lagoon, essentially still intact because it is outside the major tourist flows.
The area, formed by the solid contributions of the Brenta River, which used to flow here, is known as Dosso di Giare and represents a portion of reclaimed mainland (from the Napoleonic era) that immerses into the lagoon between the Bondantino canal and the Serraglia and Contarina Valleys.
The itinerary unfolds entirely in a barena, mainly along the lagoon delimiting embankments, the project of which dates back to the early 1600s and was completed only in 1791 by the Serenissima with the placement of 100 markers of which 4 are located along the route (markers no. 95, 94, 93, and 92).
Between markers 94 and 92, there is an embankment where the “cavane” (houses on the water for the shelter of boats) are found and from here, if the day is clear enough, one can glimpse the city of Venice and also the typical avifauna of the barena, such as herons and flamingos.
