Immediately behind the lagoon, the cultivation of this vegetable characterizes the landscape. Wide furrows separated by small embankments: it is a cultivation that requires, like few others, great work in the fields.
The plant must be maintained continuously and the soil of Giare lends itself perfectly to its cultivation: light soils, preferably a little sandy, silty and very deep. All requirements that are easily found on the lagoon shore.
