The Cinema Palace at the Lido of Venice is the main venue of the International Film Festival. Built in record time according to the modernist trends of the time, it was inaugurated on August 10, 1937 for the fifth edition of the Festival.
In contrast to the rhetorical monumentalism of the nearby Casino, the Cinema Palace, consisting of a Hall and a cinema hall with 1032 seats known as the Sala Grande, is a synthesis of rationalist models.
Today, the original building's two rounded sides and the side facades are still visible.
