The first news about the parish church dates back to 1488, when Bishop Pietro Barozzi conducted the Pastoral Visit in Carrè and found a church of considerable size: the chapel of the main altar with the two side altars was consecrated on that occasion, ordering the demolition of the fourth altar attached to the southern wall of the building.
This ancient parish church was demolished in 1875: one year earlier, in fact, the construction work for the new single-nave church had begun. This building was inaugurated in 1878 and was dedicated to the Assumption in 1938.
The facade, built in Renaissance style, is characterized by two bell towers; the side pillars host marble statues of Saint Lawrence and Saint Lucia; the mosaic in the central lunette represents the Assumption.
Inside, various works of art are preserved: the Redeemer's Altar houses the tabernacle by Nicolò da Cornedo depicting the Pietà with the Virgin and Saint John Evangelist, dated 1480. The painting depicting Saint Mark the Evangelist located in the counter-facade was created by Francesco Balante from Thiene in 1717. On the apse wall stands the Assumption of Mary, a work from the 17th century signed by the Vicentine Antonio Scajaro. The canvas with the Madonna of the Rosary, caught in the act of handing the rosary to Saint Dominic and roses to Saint Catherine of Siena, is dated 1611.
The marble works are by Francesco Cavallini and sons, the organ is a Zordan, and the paintings are by Domenico Capuzzo and brothers.
