Pedemonte and Lastebasse are connected by a pleasant path through nature and inhabited areas: the Itinerary among the whirlpools.
It consists of a network of trails and roads that connect the picturesque waterfalls of Gorgo Santo and Gorgo di Casotto with the waterfall of Val Civetta. The waterfalls of Gorgo Santo are active after significant rainfall, and near them, several caves open up, among which the Cave of Gorgo Santo Superiore is the largest, exceeding one kilometer in length, representing the longest and most complex karst feature in the valley and frequented by cave divers.
According to legend, the waterfalls of Gorgo Santo were blessed by Pope Boniface IV because it is said that St. George killed the dragon here.
Here the water has a tropical color, even though the temperature is cold all year round as it flows directly from an underground spring. In the whirlpools of Casotto, between San Pietro di Valdastico and Pedemonte, and in Gorgo Santo at Scalzeri di Pedemonte, it is possible to dip your feet in the water and enjoy a splendid view.
