In 1760 the church of San Marco was built. The following year, the church was elevated to a parish by Bishop Sante Veronese. Consecrated in 1829, it underwent a first restoration in 1870. Destroyed during World War I, it was replaced by a new Romanesque-style construction with three altars and a bell tower; inaugurated in 1926, the church was consecrated on September 28, 1946.
In the presbytery of the parish church of Lastebasse, there is an oil on canvas depicting Saint Mark the Evangelist preaching in Alexandria, Egypt; the painting was executed in 1926 by the Padovan artist Giovanni Dandolo. The subject of the work is inspired by tradition, supported by Eusebius and later taken up in the Golden Legend by Jacobus of Varagine, according to which Mark preached in Cyprus and Alexandria, where he founded the first Christian church. He was supposedly martyred in Alexandria. Of notable artistic craftsmanship is the tabernacle door, a work from 1954 by the Veronese workshop of Gino Legnaghi: made of cast silver and stamped brass, it depicts the Supper at Emmaus. Trentino artists created the stained glass window of the apse in 1984, made of colored paste, fired and leaded, depicting Saint Francis of Assisi. Among the oldest artworks preserved in the archpriest church of Piovene is a sculpture from the Venetian school depicting the Madonna on the throne with the Child, dating from the last quarter of the 15th century. The work, made of white stone, was once on the altar of Blessed Forziano and still retains part of its original coloring. The canvas from the early 17th century depicting the Crucifixion, where Saint Catherine of Alexandria and Saint John the Baptist are shown next to the cross, is attributed to the hand of the Venetian painter Jacopo Negretti, known as Palma il Giovane. In the presbytery, there are two frescoes executed between 1925 and 1926. In the sanctuary of the Angel, the statue of the Madonna on the throne with the Child Jesus is venerated, likely dating to the 14th century, received from the Girolimini fathers after the suppression of the congregation and solemnly transported to the reconstructed church on July 26, 1787.
