Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo

Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo

Parish of San Michele Arcangelo in Agugliaro, Agugliaro (Vicenza), 12th century -

The church of San Michele was presumably built before the year 1000, although the first reliable evidence of its development into a parish dates back to the "Rationes decimarum," that is, the reports of the collection of the extraordinary tax on ecclesiastical revenues, which the papacy collected for the funding of the crusades or for other specific needs of the Church, from the years 1297 and 1303. It was rebuilt for the first time around the mid-16th century and again around 1790, after which the church was subsequently abandoned and is now used as a workshop.
In the 1970s, a new church was built, designed by engineer Sante Pacchin, and consecrated on March 19, 1977.
