In the countryside, many buildings were constructed to accommodate the victims of the air raids during World War II.
Already in 1943, the faithful gathered in prayer and for the recitation of the Rosary in front of a column with the image of the Madonna. Once this was damaged by bombs, an oratory dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was built.
The population was continuously growing, and in September 1960, a local priest was assigned the task of starting the formation of a new parish.
Various associations of catechesis and apostolate consolidated, the old church of the Dwarfs was expanded and beautified, and in the following two years, a kindergarten and the rectory were built on Viale Santa Croce.
On September 11, 1965, the works for the new church on Viale Santa Croce began, which was blessed and inaugurated in 1966.
In 1975, the Giovanni XXIII oratory was also established next to the new church and the rectory.
