Museo D. Dal Lago

Museo civico D. Dal Lago

Corso Italia, 63 , Valdagno - 36078

The Civic Museum "D. Dal Lago" was established thanks to the donation of a rich collection mainly of fossils from the Valley of the Agno by Dr. Domenico Dal Lago. The Museum was inaugurated in 1995 at Villa Valle and moved to Palazzo Festari in 1999. In addition to Dr. Dal Lago's fossil collection, the Museum houses materials found in recent years during excavations and accidental discoveries that pertain to both geology and paleontology, as well as archaeology. Various studies conducted on the collections and on artifacts acquired later have allowed for a deeper understanding of the oldest history of the territory of the Valley of the Agno and the province of Vicenza.
The Museum, which is constantly evolving, offers various initiatives to the public and continues research activities aimed at the scientific dissemination of knowledge related to this territory.
In 2006, the Museum inaugurated a section dedicated to archaeology, created thanks to numerous artifacts deposited in the museum and resulting from excavation campaigns, donations, and occasional finds from the territory of the Upper Valley of the Agno. The Museum is also part of the Alto Vicentino Museums, a cultural project to promote the activities of a group of museums, representing a vast and complex area of the province of Vicenza.
