Parco "La Favorita"

The La Favorita Park represents a landscape complex of absolute prestige, due to its size (about 5 hectares) and layout, the richness of its tree heritage, and the quality of its architectures.
The design of La Favorita Park was entrusted in the 1930s by Gaetano Marzotto (concurrently with the realization of the Città Sociale or City of Harmony) to Bonfanti and Zardini, authors of a large part of the Valdagno Social City. Within it, one can recognize: the monumental entrances, the large staircase, the stone and gravel balustrades of the terraces, the tree-lined avenue, the greenhouses, and the romantic park. At the center of the monumental area, the project envisioned the construction of a large manor house (designed by Gio Ponti and Francesco Bonfanti). The works for its realization were interrupted due to World War II and were never resumed. The foundations of the palace are still visible. For many years, the park remained private, serving as greenhouses for floriculture and large cultivated areas. 
It was ceded to the Municipal Administration in the year 2000, and subsequently, the intervention for naturalistic and architectural restoration began.
In detail, the recovery project of the park included interventions for naturalistic restoration and for the architectural restoration of the structures (terraces, balustrades).
A complete survey of the vegetation was carried out, cataloging about fifty different species and assessing its health status, presenting itself today to visitors, regarding its arrangement and tree heritage, in a way quite faithful to the original layout and the designers' idea.
