The Valdagno library was established in 1956 at Palazzo Festari. In 1968, the headquarters was moved to the upper floor of the town hall, and in 1970 it returned to Palazzo Festari on the first floor, with a book collection of about 9,000 volumes. In 1978, the Historical Archive of the Municipality also found space within the library.
The move to the current location took place in July 1983, thanks to the donation of Villa Valle by the Marzotto family. The collection now counts 17,000 volumes.
Starting in 1992, with a collection of around 27,000 volumes, computerization began, with adherence to the unified cataloging of library materials. In 1997, the first Internet station was activated.
Today, the annual book increase is around 2,000 volumes, and the library holds approximately 55,000 documents, but library cooperation allows users to access a library of about 1,300,000 titles, which can be exchanged through the bi-weekly library transportation service.
