Chiesa di San Bartolomeo Apostolo
Via XXIV Maggio, 8 , Ormelle - 31024
News about the parish church of Ormelle dates back to the early 17th century. The building was reconstructed following World War I and subsequently modified in the post-World War II period. The church has a rectangular layout oriented east-west. The hall, divided into three naves, features a coffered wooden ceiling; the presbytery area is always rectangular in shape with a barrel vault covering. Closing off the building is the apse with a semicircular shape and a semi-dome covering. Inside, there are works of significant importance, including a painting by Alvise Donà from 1568 depicting the "Madonna with Child and Four Saints" and two marble statues from Carrara by the artist Giuseppe Bernardi, who was the master of Canova; also noteworthy is the baptismal font made of stone, sculpted in Romanesque style, dating back to the 15th century. Externally, the building has a classical configuration, characterized by a free facade with a double order of columns and arches that delimit the portico on the ground floor and the loggia on the first floor. The façade is also characterized by the presence of multi-curve elements that outline the curved side parts and the closing tympanum.
