10:45 a.m.: Meeting in Valle Cornio.
11:00 a.m.: Boarding and departure from the Canale del Cornio, an ancient branch of the Brenta River, an ideal place to observe numerous species of birds.
During the navigation, we will coast along the beautiful valleys of Averto, Cornio, and Zappa, reaching the famous Casone di Valle Zappa, a unique structure in typical Dutch style. Here we will make a brief stop from the boat (disembarking is not permitted) to admire, photograph, and discover curiosities and stories told by our guide.
The central stop will be lunch on the stilted construction “La Pettegola,” a historic cabin surrounded by velme and barene with a panoramic view of the ruins of the ancient casoni. An extraordinary location to enjoy a table-served fish menu. The stilted structure, currently lacking a water supply, utilizes the restrooms available on board the boat.
After lunch, we will resume navigation towards Valle Figheri, where we can admire from the boat the Torre della Padovana, an important birdwatching point, and, if the tide allows it, the picturesque Casone Labia.
5:00 p.m.: Return to the starting point in Valle Cornio.
Throughout the excursion, an experienced guide will illustrate the peculiarities, traditions, and curiosities of the lagoon and its fishing valleys.
