Carlo Mazzetto, who realized this, has created for the square of Fossò a shoe that is not a shoe. Heel, sole, upper can be seen and, if desired, touched, but they immediately become something else. The artist presents us with a reality that quickly transforms into another: idealized and enriched with meaning, it becomes an infinity of other things as our eyes investigate it and our hands glide over it, and we move around it, one, two, three times, always discovering something new. Carlo has managed to transform and make different an object of our most banal everyday life. He has succeeded in seeing it and making us see it as traversed by a continuous succession of forms, passed through by plays of light and shadow, animated by a combination of planes and lights that always take us further, invoking dreams, struggles, projects to those who pass by: life.
But isn’t this, after all, the true task of art?
And this has been the gamble that Carlo Mazzetto has placed his bets on. And he has won.
Together with the community of Fossò, which has built its present and projects its future on the shoe, that of hard daily work that wants to be celebrated in this square.
