The pure white of the material unleashes turned shapes and compact geometries into space. Fragments of glass and metal bars emerge, contrasting with the marble background. The idea of a reasoned construction is immediately perceived, alternating opposing forces following an internal rhythm, a drive that transforms rough surfaces into mobile gears, raw blocks into polished bricks.
The visual suggestion brings us back to a metamorphosis in progress, from nature to symbol, passing through the spiritual elevation that evokes the idea of order, of rational cohesion. The artist Carlo Mazzetto summarizes in this way the evocative intensity of a daily commitment, work, transfiguring with his great sculpture the emblem of a value rich in meanings, memories, and cultural references.
The compositional balance is based on a sequence of representations: at the center, a large sun illuminating the path of existence, next to it a wheel-gear while transforming matter, on the opposite side, the verticality of a driving tree that embodies perpetual motion along with five ellipses gathered by a ring, representing continuity, security of the future, vivid hope of the future resting on a glorious past (the Murano glass inserts placed on a wall completed by human activity). Then suddenly, the obstacle, dramatic and sudden, a rusty iron bar that relentlessly crosses the marble block, a pointed blade embedded in the body.
The graft alters the outcomes, modifies the harmony of the whole, giving rise to a strong chromatic clash.
