Chiesa di San Sebastiano

Via Ca' Pajella, 18 , Thiene - 36016

The story of Ca' Pajella is very recent. The neighborhood is so named because much of the territory was owned by the Counts Pajello, in memory of whom the green and red banners are still used today to decorate the district during the Reenactment. The Counts Pajello, of German origin, arrived in Italy around the middle of the 12th century; they then purchased numerous properties in various areas of Thiene, and as early as the 15th century, they built a country residence on one of them to better control the territory, of which only a few traces remain.
In 1957, the City Council decided that the new neighborhood should be called Borgo Asiago in honor of the city that suffered so much during World War I. In the following years, numerous houses were built, and the neighborhood began to populate, eventually leading to the construction of a modern-style church. It was inaugurated on April 25, 1978, dedicated to Saint Sebastian, and was later enhanced by the original paintings of Margherita Pavesi Mazzoni, created with gold on ancient oak wood panels and defined as “mystic gold”.
