It was the first built in Gambellara and has ancient origins (it may have been part of the now non-existent castle). In the mid-fifties, it was the subject of fierce contention because it stood on the homonymous mountain that became a basalt quarry, making its removal necessary. It was demolished on May 13, 1957, to make way for basalt extraction. Its memory, never faded, allowed for its reconstruction (on a smaller scale compared to the original) and it was returned to the community on April 25, 2003.
It occupies a panoramic position in an area of volcanic nature characterized by the presence of a magmatic rock called basalt rock.
