The small church we see today is a reconstruction made in 1581 by the Ferro family of a pre-existing chapel, presumably dating back to before the year 1000. It has a trussed roof and a small semicircular apse facing northeast. The simple interior, consisting of a single room with a terracotta floor, is accessed through a stone-framed door, embellished with a shaped cornice lintel. The only altar is made of soft stone. It also preserves a Roman inscription datable between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD, which was found during the construction work of 1581 and is embedded in the left wall of the building; the text of the inscription reads: C(AIUS) CAMERIUS M(ARCI) F(ILIUS) / IIIIVIR / PONTIFEX / SIBI ET / TERENTIAE L(UCI) F(ILIAE).
Curiosity: Saint Justina supposedly died during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. The dedication to this saint from Padua (not to forget the great basilica in Prato della Valle) brings to mind the early stages of the Christianization of the Vicenza area, which - according to tradition - is linked to the tireless evangelizing work carried out by the proto-bishop of Padua, Saint Prosdocimus.
