The church of Santa Maria dell'Annunciazione in Calvene was founded in the course of the XI century with the title of parish. During the X century, the majestic Romanesque baptistery was built, which still stands today.
It was subsequently renovated in the course of the Sixteenth century, only to be severely damaged by the flood of 1850.
Between 1850 and 1852, it was entirely rebuilt in neoclassical style and was moved to a new location, further upstream than the previous one.
Inside, various works of art are preserved: a terracotta of Saint Peter Martyr from the Fifteenth century; a late Gothic wooden Crucifix; a statue depicting the Madonna enthroned with Child commonly known as Madonna della cintura; the Zordan organ from 1871.
The main altar features interesting paintings: an Annunciation by Alessandro Maganza, Saint Peter Martyr, and The Supper at Emmaus by the Bassano school.
