Località Vanzi , Monte di Malo (VI) - 36030

The Aganè Nature Park is located halfway between the center of Monte di Malo and San Vito di Leguzzano, in the Vanzi area, in a hilly zone from which one can admire the underlying plain and much of the Venetian Prealps. Here, the landscape offers a corner rich in vegetation, with a water mirror around which a dirt pedestrian path lies.
Thanks to the kiosk, the picnic area, the organization of events, educational activities for both adults and children, and the creation of new services for private individuals and companies, at Aganè everyone can find their own space in contact with nature. Admission is free.

At Aganè, one can have a snack after a walk, a bike ride, or dedicate a moment to rest and relaxation. It can also serve as a base camp for excursions into the surrounding woods or a rest point along the way. Thanks to collaborations with local entities, excellent products can be enjoyed at the kiosk.
The hilly area of Monte di Malo is characterized by an extensive network of trails of varying lengths and difficulties. Some of these start right from Aganè and can be traveled both on foot and by mountain bike.
Hiking enthusiasts will find themselves spoiled for choice here, whether for trekking or for experiencing truly unique adventures: just a few minutes from Aganè, the “Buso della Rana” park and the Priabonian Museum, rich in rare prehistoric finds, can be found.

The meaning of Aganè derives from the mythological figures that are the protagonists of many stories in local tradition: the Anguane. These supernatural entities, halfway between a human being and a fish, acquired similar names that varied according to the dialects. From the plain to the Dolomites, they were referred to as Ainguane, Gane, Aquane, Adganae, and many other epithets.
Before the park we see today, this area housed the Canova mine, which later became Cava Scarsi, both dedicated to the extraction of earth and clays. Once the activities ceased, nature began to reclaim the place: the large hole in the ground left by the excavators filled with water, thus giving life to a small lake.
This gradually became a gathering spot for many woodland animals. After an attempt to turn it into a landfill, in 2014 the area was finally designated as an environmental park.
Today, Aganè is a dynamic reality, like nature itself. From season to season, the area has transformed its appearance, returning to its original shape, thanks to the work of people who have cared for its well-being.
With the passage of time, new activities, services, and opportunities for gathering will be born, always with the desire to see happy people nurtured by Mother Nature.
