The current Civic Museum occupies the Bishop's Palace and the building of the Loggia della Ragione; the latter was built in the 15th century to host the minor Venetian representatives and the Podestà in his role as the administrator of justice. The Loggia was frescoed around the mid-16th century.
The recent reorganization of the Museum includes:
- the Archaeological Section which includes materials dating from prehistoric times to the Renaissance found both in the historic center of Asolo and in the surrounding area;
- the Picture Gallery whose most important paintings are Saint Jerome by Luca Giordano, Saint Anthony of Padua by Bernardo Strozzi, and the two Capricci by Bernardo Bellotto;
- the section of the Cathedral Treasury where some sacred vestments belonging to the Cathedral of Asolo are on display.
- the sections dedicated to the three Women of Asolo: Caterina Cornaro, Eleonora Duse, and Freya Stark.
