The complex of Villa Fabris in Thiene represents one of the most significant examples in the Vicenza area of that neoclassical architectural culture of Enlightenment origin that, around the second half of the eighteenth century and the early years of the following century, was widely disseminated in the territory, especially thanks to the work of the "neopalladian" architects, first among them Ottone Calderari and Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi.
The author of the building is still unknown, although Cevese cautiously mentioned the name of the Feltre architect Antonio De Boni a few years ago, based on some stylistic connections with other works in the area. Beyond the attribution issue, the architecture of Villa Chilesotti-Fabris stands out for the spaciousness of its proportions, the clarity of the architectural scheme, and the freshness of the ornaments.
The complex as it appears today, rather large, is actually the result of the addition of several building bodies erected in later periods.
The main building of the Villa was undoubtedly erected during the eighteenth century, although the features, inspired by the classicism of neopalladian descent of the main facade, suggest that the most significant architectural intervention was carried out at the turn of the century, probably on pre-existing baroque structures.
Today it is the home of the Associazione Villa Fabris Bene Comune, a network that promotes the values of beauty and care, of doing and equity for inclusive work.
The structure is equipped with a guest house for tourist accommodation with six comfortable and quiet rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and a common area with free wi-fi, a coffee machine, and a microwave.
