The Hangar Museum Roma Tokio is the headquarters of Vispofly and is shared with the cultural association "87th Squadron SVA" within the Thiene airport.
The space was designed to host the historical aircraft of Vispofly, but also to welcome workshop activities, exhibitions, and workshops related to the aeronautical world. In fact, the "87th Squadron SVA" uses the place as a multifunctional space for exhibitions, seminars, educational workshops, meetings with schools, and events aimed at providing a perception of the local airport context. A place, in short, with a dual soul, designed to enhance and spread the love for flight.
The museum is dedicated to the raid carried out by the Thiene aviator Arturo Ferrarin in 1920. The endeavor, planned by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, aimed to fly from Rome to Tokyo to celebrate Italy, promote friendship between the two peoples, and showcase the extraordinary possibilities of flight. Ferrarin was later involved in the venture and was the one to complete it, together with Lieutenant Guido Masiero, aboard S.V.A.9 aircraft.
Vispofly represents a new way of conceiving flight and what it takes to achieve it. In an era where innovation is often opposed to tradition, Vispofly has its roots in artisanal knowledge.
Traditional methods and materials, combined with the passion and construction skills of those who have always dreamed of flight, bring completely functional aircraft to life. Over the past ten years, Giorgio Bonato has become a reference point for aircraft restoration enthusiasts, has embarked on the project of the Hangar Museum Roma Tokio, and has founded the Vispofly brand dedicated to the enhancement, restoration, and dissemination of the flying heritage.
In his workshop, Giorgio reconstructs perfectly functional historical aircraft, adapting them to modern needs and combining traditional and contemporary techniques. After facing the difficulty of sourcing the necessary raw materials for construction, Giorgio decided to open the doors of his workshop. Thanks to the experiences gained over the years, today, Vispofly can provide you with numerous technical materials and offer targeted consultations.
