A museum designed to present the many works of artistic and religious interest that Piove can still boast, from the Cathedral of Saint Martin itself and from other churches and convents in the city. It is an itinerary designed to complement the visit to the Church of Saint Martin.
OPEN: Wednesday 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Sunday 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Beginning with the history of the distinguished Collegiate Church that administered the cathedral and its property for centuries, the itinerary is intended to be an introduction to the devotional and religious history of the capital city of Saccisica, through the testimony of works such as the large canvas with the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament, the altarpieces that together with those still preserved in the cathedral and subsidiary churches document the devotion to the Virgin and the saints, the small panels intended for private devotion, and the "Treasure" kept inside a cabinet in the sacristy.
In the adjacent "Chiesuola," which houses some canvases from the church of Saint Francis, the memory of the ancient foundation survives in the fresco piece of the Giotto school with the Dormitio Virginis.
Among the pieces of absolute interest are: the altarpiece of St. Francis of Paola by Giambattista Tiepolo, precious reliquaries, a very large canvas with the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament attributed to Andrea Michieli known as il Vicentino and more altarpieces, furnishings, and sacred ornaments.
