Inside the Antica Officina Radin, the Museum of Breganzese Craftsmanship has been established, born from the passion of Gabriele Radin and the commitment of the Historical Research Group.
The workshop, specialized in iron work, was opened in 1923 by Antonio Radin, a skilled and ingenious iron craftsman.
Until the end of the last century, the workshop dealt with a predominantly agricultural society, producing what was necessary for the daily life of families and farms. In the evocative rooms, tools of every kind and machines from the nineteenth century are displayed. Of particular interest are the set of tools for shoeing work cows and oxen, the measuring instruments used by the workshop, and a series of carpentry tools.
Over 150 apprentices have passed through the Officina Radin, trained “on the field.”
The premises maintain the characteristic structure of artisan shops active from the 1920s to the post-World War II period.
Entering the premises, one breathes the air of bygone times. Eras when human skill prevailed over technology, and artisanal ingenuity compensated for the lack of equipment.
The passion of Gabriele Radin has revived a place rich in memory and capable of offering younger generations an eloquent testimony of times that risk being erased by neglect.
Alongside the rich collection made available by the Radin family, one can visit the collection of "battirame" tools donated to the Association by the Sorio family.
